Buckner Children and Family Services and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company: "Keeping Children on Course"
Since 1999, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company has hosted the annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting Buckner Children and Family Services of Southeast Texas. To date, the event has raised more than $1.5 million to help meet the needs of the abused and neglected children and families in our area.
"The people at Chevron Phillips, both corporate and local, look forward to this golf tournament each year," said Margie Conway, Port Arthur Plant Manager. "It's one of the premier events in this area, and our employees are genuinely excited about it because of their personal involvement with Buckner."
Rick Kinder, Plant Manager in Orange, Texas, added that he's glad to partner with Buckner.
"The dedication given by both Chevron Phillips employees and Buckner, helps to make this event one of the best in the area."
For more than 41 years in Southwest Texas, Buckner Children and Family Services has provided a safe home for boys and girls who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. In addition to foster care and adoption programs, Buckner helps young adults made the transition from substitute care to self-sufficiency.
Buckner also serves families in crisis by offering parenting classes, crisis intervention service and support.
For more than 133, Buckner has been transforming lives through hands-on ministry, serving the most vulnerable. Buckner is one of the oldest and most unique faith-based social service organizations of its kind, serving more than 450,000 people each year in the United States and 22 countries worldwide.
